Design Background
I attended the Columbus College of Art and Design for Interior Design courses. After school, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to open a design studio in an upscale Benjamin Moore paint store. I worked with customers designing draperies, bedspreads, customized upholstery to match wallcoverings/paint. I have a good eye for color so it was an easy task.
Why California Closets?
I can’t work/live without organization everywhere. Everything needs to be in its place…. organized, neat and orderly. Since it’s almost an obsession, I jumped at the opportunity to be able to help other people achieve the same order and organization in their lives.
Christine's Design Style
My father and grandparents are from Germany, so I have inherited a lot of family furniture heirlooms. I would say that I love traditional design, especially anything made with dark woods, such as mahogany and dark walnut. Though modern designs are appealing, I gravitate towards more “old world” designs.
I didn't know what I didn't know! This closet changed our lives for the better. I did not realize I could not see half my clothes or that I spent so much precious time looking for stuff in "regular closets". Best decision we made in our renovation! We did a closet with a center island and a bench on one end. We have a built in ironing board, and built in safe and jewelry drawer. Super convenient. Our designer, Christine Walter, was excellent and easy to work with. The installers did the whole room in one day and were super polite and professional. I will say I had to go buy new hangers because it was so pretty I couldn't stand the hangers not matching! Having California Closets will change your life for the better!- The best part of the experience was working with California Closets designer Christine Walter. With her professional help, we were able to design two closets that fit our needs. The scheduled date for installation was met. The work took one day. We are very happy with the results and glad we chose California Closets for this job.
